Antrica & ONVIF Conformant Encoders

ONVIF is a Security market standard where products and software have been tested and conform to ONVIF profiles, this means that all ONVIF-approved products work seamlessly together rather than having integration issues.

Antrica has a range of encoders – the ANT-35000AANT-35000H and ANT-38500 – which are fully conformant to profile S & G.

Why ONVIF Decoders?

One of the most common questions we get asked is “Do you sell an ONVIF decoder?” The answer to this question is not quite as simple as a yes or no…

ONVIF have yet to recognise or implement a ‘decoder’ category on thier website and test tool , therefore at this time is is impossible to claim that any decoder on the market is truly ONVIF conformant as they would have not been tested by ONVIF (trust us – we have tried to apply before!).

However , our range of decoders vary in terms of their compatibility with ONVIF, essentially all of them work with ONVIF streams, the difference is how the acquire the streams:

The ANT-37000A, ANT-38500 and ANT-36000 have ONVIF discovery – meaning it can ‘search and discover’ ONVIF streams more easily than having to manually input the IP stream code.

Other decoders such as the ANT-2601, ANT-37200 can view ONVIF streams but just need the IP stream manually inputting via the web interface.

Founded in 2008 by Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corporation, ONVIF has a robust member base on six continents. ONVIF membership is open to manufacturers, software developers, consultants, system integrators, end users and other interest groups that wish to participate in ONVIF activities.

As all the products are designed and tested to work together it results in an easy, straightforward installation with minimal ‘teething’ issues. The conformant products allow you to be confident in their interoperability and make integration of products from different vendors easier.

Ultimately, time is money in any industry, and the less time system installers spend troubleshooting, the more time they can spend on jobs and installing, and ultimately a seamless installation is pleasing for any customer.
